Federal, State, Local and Community Officials cut the ribbon

On Saturday, October 1st, Federal, State, Local, and Community officials joined Englewood CDC and their partners as they opened what is prescribed to be Indiana's first Net-Positive Energy apartment building.  With individual unit HERS Ratings approaching -20 (indicating positive energy), the group is confident the building will perform to the difficult to achieve standard.

The project utilized standard green technologies like Solar PV, LED Lighting, and Natural Daylighting/Shading, as well as innovative technologies like Flat-Plate Solar Collectors, Transpired Solar Collectors and Variable Speed ASHP Heating and Cooling.

Paired with conservation and consumption strategies that encourage the efficient use of energy, these technologies will allow Oxford Place to achieve what has not yet been accomplished in the State of Indiana.

Congratulations to Englewood, TWG Development and all their partners.

Moving Forward by DK GR

DKGR would like to congratulate Community Action of Greater Indianapolis (CAGI) and their team on their selection for IHCDA's innovative Moving Forward 2.0 program.  Focused on providing energy efficient transportation and housing, the 2016 incarnation of the Moving Forward program will tackle an additional challenge that is a pervasive and perpetual problem in urban communities, generational poverty.

In addition to the team members enumerated below, CAGI has partnered with Indianapolis Public Schools and Dr. Lewis Ferebee to explore and implement educational strategies to combat poverty at its root.

DKGR is excited to be a part of this extraordinary team.  Congratulations to all.
